Hi, I'm Sandie — the person who packs, wraps and (usually, reluctantly) photographs every hamper that leaves Coastal Hampers.

My family relocated to the Sunshine Coast a few years ago, and after a long stretch working in admin and then working remotely for someone else, I was ready for a change. With two boys who keep our calendar full of sport and school events, I wanted work I could build around our family, rather than asking permission to make it to assembly or a Sports event.

I've always been the person who loves to gift people on their birthdays and other special occasions — my partner will tell you I take Christmas very seriously and over buy every year — so when I came across Coastal Hampers for sale, it felt like exactly the right fit. I bought the business in August 2023, and I've been the one-woman show behind it ever since.

These days I do a bit of everything: choosing and sourcing every product, building relationships with the Sunshine Coast makers behind so much of what goes into our hampers, packing and dispatching every order myself, and talking directly with customers and suppliers. I like to support local artisans and small producers wherever I can — being a small business myself, I know exactly how much it means when someone chooses to shop small. That's part of why so many of the products inside your hamper come from other Sunshine Coast makers and growers: when you buy from Coastal Hampers, you're not just supporting me, you're helping keep a whole chain of local small businesses running too. Photography and social media, if I'm honest, are not my strong suits — but the hampers themselves are the part I never get tired of.
